(Michael) Calvin Mills is a writer of fiction, essays, and plays. His fiction collection, The Caged Man, is forthcoming from Cornerstone Press (2025). A chapbook of creative nonfiction essays, A Handful of Tragic Days, won the Eggtooth Any Genre Chapbook Contest, and is forthcoming (2024). His work has appeared in Short Story, Weird Tales, Tales from the South, Short Form Creative Writing: A Writer’s Guide and Anthology from Bloomsbury, and Youth Culture and Social Change: Making a Difference by Making a Noise from Palgrave MacMillian. His writing awards include a Meritorious Achievement Award from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival as a playwright for Freak Like Me: The Musical. He teaches writing at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington.
